Afghanistan Secures T20 World Cup Semi final Spot
Afghanistan clinched a spot in the T20 World Cup 2024 semi-finals with a victory over Bangladesh in their final Super 8 match at the Arnos Vale Ground, Kingstown, St Vincent, on Tuesday. This win also resulted in Australia’s elimination from the tournament.
Afghanistan will face South Africa in the first semi-final on June 27, while India will compete against England in the second semi-final. In the 52nd match of the tournament, Afghanistan triumphed over Bangladesh by eight runs, bringing their total to four points with two wins in the Super 8 stage.
As the second-placed team in Group 1 of the Super 8, Afghanistan advanced to the semi-finals, while India topped the group with six points from three victories. Australia exited the tournament with only two points from one win, and Bangladesh finished last in the group, having failed to secure any victories.
