The third convocation ceremony of Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University (RMLNLU) in Lucknow witnessed a gathering of prominent figures including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud. The event celebrated the achievements of law graduates amidst calls for enhancing legal education in regional languages and improving accessibility of legal information to the public.
Chief Justice DY Chandrachud emphasized the importance of simplifying legal language to enhance public understanding of legal principles. He advocated for the introduction of LLB courses in Hindi at RMLNLU, stressing the necessity for law students to comprehend regional laws effectively. Chandrachud also highlighted initiatives to make legal judgments accessible by translating over 37,000 Supreme Court decisions into Hindi and other Constitutionally recognized languages. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath underscored the role of rule of law in fostering good governance. He praised the contribution of legal experts in nation-building and emphasized the need for integrity and trust between the judiciary and the public. Adityanath commended RMLNLU’s progress and expressed confidence in the graduates’ potential to positively impact society and the nation.The convocation ceremony honored 113 awardees, including recipients of gold, silver, and bronze medals across various categories such as Law of Taxation, Criminal Law, and Best Mooter of the Year. Notably, students like Gulafsha from Saharanpur and Saurabh Tiwari from Prayagraj, who overcame personal and professional challenges, shared their heartfelt journeys towards academic excellence and career aspirations. The event served as a reunion for alumni who returned from across the country to celebrate their accomplishments and reminisce about their educational journey at RMLNLU.
