A 28-year-old gym owner, Sumit Chaudhary, was fatally stabbed by a group of men in northeast Delhi’s Bhajanpura area, according to police. Chaudhary, also involved in a tour and travel business, was attacked outside his home in Gamri Extension late on Wednesday night.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (North East) Joy Tirkey reported that Chaudhary was sitting outside his house when he got into an argument with three to four men. The men then attacked him with a knife, stabbing him multiple times in the face, neck, chest, and abdomen. He sustained over 21 stab wounds to his face. Chaudhary was rushed to JPC Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. The police noted that Chaudhary had a previous conviction for attempted murder and was out on bail.
Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the attackers. Chaudhary leaves behind his wife and a three-year-old son.
