In a significant move aimed at aiding victims of road accidents in Haryana, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has launched a comprehensive scheme offering cashless treatment facilities and compensation. Announced during a press conference, this initiative seeks to provide immediate assistance to those affected by hit-and-run incidents, ensuring that medical expenses are covered and compensation is swiftly disbursed. The scheme, financed through the Haryana Road Safety Fund, marks a pivotal step towards enhancing support mechanisms for accident victims across the state.

Chief Minister Saini outlined the key provisions of the newly launched scheme, emphasizing its role in alleviating the financial burden on accident victims and their families. Under the initiative, victims will receive prompt medical attention at the nearest government or private hospital, with all expenses covered directly from the state’s Road Safety Fund. This measure aims to streamline the process of accessing critical healthcare services during emergencies, thereby potentially saving lives in critical situations.Furthermore, Saini highlighted the expedited timeline for compensation payments, ensuring that eligible recipients receive financial aid within 15 days of the submission of necessary reports by the Inquiry Commissioner. This swift action underscores the government’s commitment to providing timely support and relief to those affected by road accidents. Additionally, a district-level committee will oversee the implementation of the scheme, ensuring effective delivery of benefits at the grassroots level. The initiative draws inspiration from a scheme notified by the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways earlier this year, tailored to address the needs of hit-and-run accident victims nationwide. By adopting a similar framework, Haryana aims to standardize and improve the process of compensation and healthcare provision for accident victims, aligning state policies with national directives. In a related development, Chief Minister Saini also addressed the long-standing challenges faced by farmers and small traders regarding soil disposal permissions. He announced the launch of an online portal under the Mines and Geology department, enabling seamless acquisition of permits related to soil utilization. This initiative is expected to significantly ease bureaucratic hurdles, providing practical relief to stakeholders and fostering smoother regulatory compliance.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s unveiling of the scheme for road accident victims represents a compassionate and proactive approach to addressing public welfare concerns in Haryana. By ensuring cashless treatment facilities and swift compensation, the government aims to enhance the overall safety net for citizens affected by unforeseen accidents on the roads. The establishment of a dedicated committee at the district level and the integration of an online portal for soil disposal permits further exemplify the administration’s commitment to efficient governance and responsive public service delivery. As the scheme rolls out, its success will be measured not only by the number of beneficiaries it supports but also by its ability to instill confidence among residents regarding the state’s commitment to their well-being. Moving forward, sustained efforts to improve road safety measures and streamline administrative processes will be crucial in advancing Haryana’s development agenda and ensuring equitable access to essential services for all citizens.
