A Malaysia Airlines flight bound for Kuala Lumpur from Hyderabad had to return shortly after takeoff early Thursday morning due to a technical problem with one of its engines. Flight MH 199, carrying 138 passengers, departed Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at 12:45 am but landed back soon after due to the issue, according to airport sources. Originally scheduled for departure at 12:15 am, the flight encountered the technical problem during its initial ascent.
In another incident on June 18, an IndiGo flight scheduled to fly from Delhi to Bagdogra faced a delay of about four hours at Indira Gandhi International Airport due to a technical issue caused by high ground temperatures. IndiGo flight 6E 2521 was supposed to depart Delhi at 2:10 pm and arrive in Bagdogra at 4:10 pm. The delay was attributed to operational challenges caused by the weather conditions, and IndiGo assured passengers that safety remains their top priority.
Additionally, on June 8, a potentially serious incident was narrowly avoided at Mumbai airport when an Air India aircraft took off while an IndiGo aircraft was landing on the same runway within a minute. IndiGo flight 6E 6053 from Indore had received landing clearance from Air Traffic Control (ATC), and the airline emphasized that safety protocols were followed during the incident.
These incidents highlight the operational challenges and safety protocols that airlines prioritize to ensure passenger safety amidst technical and procedural issues.
