Mau Sadar’s Mukhtar Ansari, 63, served as an MLA five times. The gangster-turned-politician was imprisoned in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab since 2005, with more than 60 criminal counts against him.
Mukhtar Ansari’s death: On Thursday, Umar Ansari, the son of the late gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari, claimed that his father consumed food tainted with poison while incarcerated, ultimately leading to his death. Shortly after Mukhtar Ansari passed away from cardiac arrest in a Banda, Uttar Pradesh, hospital, Umar stated his father’s death was caused by gradual poisoning, and the family was considering filing a lawsuit.
“I learned about it via the media; I didn’t receive any information from the administration. But everything is now known to the entire country. I went to see him two days ago, but I wasn’t let in. Regarding the accusation of administering delayed poison, we have stated previously and will continue to do so today. He was poisoned during supper on March 19. Following the passing of his father, Umar Ansari told the media, “We will move to the judiciary; we have full faith in it.”
According to Umar Ansari, his father had stated that he was given food tainted with poison while incarcerated in Banda, which caused his health to decline and ultimately resulted in his death.
Accused of poisoning, Mukhtar Ansari, a jailed politician and criminal, passed away on Thursday, Thursday, at a hospital in Banda, Uttar Pradesh, from cardiac arrest.
Ansari passed away at Banda’s Rani Durgavati Medical College on Thursday after being taken there in “an unconscious state” from the district jail, per the college’s principal, Suneel Kaushal. The cause of his death was a cardiac attack.
Afzal Ansari, the MP for Ghazipur and brother of Ansari, claimed earlier in the week that he was experiencing “slow poisoning” while incarcerated; the authorities refuted this claim.
In order to avert law and order problems, authorities implemented Section 144 CrPC throughout the state after his death. In the districts of Banda, Mau, Ghazipur, and Varanasi, more security officers were stationed.
According to officials, Ansari’s body has been sent for a post-mortem and will be given to his family later today for final ceremonies.
