Noida International Airport has announced a delay in its commencement of flight operations, now targeting an April 2025 launch instead of the previously scheduled end of 2024. The airport’s statement on Monday highlighted that construction work on critical infrastructure, including the runway, passenger terminal, and control tower, is in advanced stages, with the upcoming weeks being pivotal for progress.
“Given the current status of construction, we anticipate starting commercial operations by the end of April 2025,” the statement read. “We are collaborating closely with our EPC contractor, Tata Projects Ltd, and other stakeholders to maintain the momentum of construction activities and ensure operational readiness.”
The airport has also finalized agreements for ground handling, commercial area operations, and essential maintenance contracts. In its first phase, Noida International Airport is projected to accommodate 12 million passengers and manage 96,400 flights annually.
Spanning 1,334 hectares in Jewar, within Uttar Pradesh’s Gautam Buddha Nagar district, the airport is located approximately 72 kilometers from New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, 52 kilometers from Noida, and 130 kilometers from Agra. Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the project in November 2021.
