On Saturday, former RG Kar Medical College and Hospital principal Dr. Sandip Ghosh was questioned for several hours by the CBI for the second consecutive day. Dr. Ghosh was seen entering the CBI office at the CGO complex in Salt Lake with a collection of documents and files, and as of the latest reports, he had not yet left the premises.The CBI is rigorously corroborating Dr. Ghosh’s statements with testimonies from doctors, interns, and nurses who were present at the hospital on the night of the incident. The investigation has already involved questioning over 20 people, and the agency has prepared a list of approximately 40 individuals, including doctors and police officers, for further interrogation.In addition to interviewing key witnesses, the CBI has deployed separate teams to the crime scene at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, as well as to the barrack of the Kolkata Police’s Armed Forces fourth battalion in Salt Lake, where the primary suspect, civic volunteer Sanjay Roy, is currently being held.Psychologists from New Delhi have also arrived in Kolkata to assist with the investigation, providing expert insights and support as the CBI continues its comprehensive probe into the case.
