The Noida Police has put restrictions in place from Sunday to Wednesday to keep peace during the Bakr-Id and Ganga Dussehra celebrations. They have enforced Section 144 of the CrPC in Noida and Greater Noida. This means public processions, prayers, worship, and other religious events are not allowed unless you get special permission.
Additional DCP Hirdesh Katheriya said the police want to prevent trouble from anti-social elements during this time. He also mentioned that government exams and protests often happen on short notice, and it’s important to make sure these go smoothly.
The police order also mentioned that protests by various groups could cause disruptions. Because of the urgent situation, the order was issued without a hearing and will be in effect from June 16 to 19.
The main restrictions include banning large gatherings, unauthorized drone use within 1 km of government offices, loudspeakers between 10 pm and 6 am, and any non-traditional activities at disputed sites. Collecting bricks, stones, or flammable materials in open areas or on rooftops is also banned. Violating these rules can lead to punishment under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.
This order is in effect across the entire Gautam Buddh Nagar Commissionerate from June 16 to 19. Any new orders from the Uttar Pradesh government will update this prohibition order.
