PM Narendra Modi recently stirred controversy by alleging that the Congress manifesto favors Muslims and intends to distribute property based on the number of children in a family. In response, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge criticized PM Modi’s insinuation, stating that poverty often leads to larger families. Kharge, citing his own example, mentioned that he himself has five children. He further commented on Modi’s focus shifting towards “Mangalsutra” and Muslims as the elections draw closer, suggesting a strategy to sway voters.
Last month, PM Modi’s remarks on Muslims caused a stir when he claimed that the Congress manifesto aims to allocate property based on family size. He accused the Congress of prioritizing Muslims in accessing the nation’s assets, referencing statements made during previous Congress governance.
During a campaign rally in Rajasthan’s Banswara, Modi highlighted the Congress manifesto’s purported plans to assess family gold holdings and distribute them accordingly. He questioned the rationale behind prioritizing Muslims in asset distribution and implied that it would benefit those with more children, including infiltrators.
In response to Modi’s accusations regarding wealth redistribution based on family size, Kharge questioned whether only Muslims have more children, emphasizing his own family size as proof. He expressed disbelief at the notion that poverty-stricken families with more children would be the sole beneficiaries of such a policy, implying that it is a misrepresentation of reality.
