Indian cricket fans are eagerly waiting for news about when Virat Kohli will join the other Indian players in New York. Currently, there is no definite answer. Kohli is the only player from India’s T20 World Cup squad who has not yet arrived in the USA. Meanwhile, the rest of the 18 cricketers, including four reserves, began their training session in New York on Wednesday.
Recently spotted in Mumbai with his wife Anushka Sharma and former cricketer Zaheer Khan, Kohli has requested a slightly longer break after the intense two-month IPL season. There has been no update on his travel plans from the BCCI, according to ESPNCricinfo. Kohli last played on May 22 in the IPL Eliminator, where his team, Royal Challengers Bangalore, was knocked out by the Rajasthan Royals.
According to PTI, Kohli is expected to arrive in New York on Friday. “Kohli took a break for personal work after RCB’s IPL exit and will likely join the squad by Friday,” PTI reported. However, it is uncertain whether he will be available for India’s only warm-up match against Bangladesh on Sunday, June 1, due to the long flight.
