Sunny Deol on Thursday announced sequel to the popular film ‘Border’, which was released 27 years ago. On the film’s 27 anniversary, Sunny Deol announced the sequel ‘Border 2’. ‘Border’ was released in cinemas in the year 1997. It emerged as an all-time blockbuster and a fan favorite. Makers are describing ‘Border 2’ as “India’s biggest war film”. ‘Border 2’ will be directed by Anurag Singh, who is known for ‘Kesari’ and the first two films in the ‘Jatt & Juliet’ franchise. JP Dutta directed the Blockbuster ‘Border’, but this time he will be producing the sequel along with his daughter Nidhi Dutta under JP Films. Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar will also produce ‘Border 2’.

Bollywood Star Sunny Deol shared the announcement teaser of the film on his official Instagram account. ” Ek fauji apne 27 saal purane waade ko pura karne, aa rha hai phirse. India’s biggest war film, Border 2. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta and Nidhi Dutta will be directed by Anurag Singh #TSeries #JPFilms,” he wrote.
Border was released on 13 June 1997 and was based on the events of the Battle of Longewala during the India-Pakistan War of 1971. Apart from Sunny Deol, ‘Border’ also starred Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Akshaye Khanna, Sudesh Berry and Punnet Ishar in pivotal roles alongside the supporting cast of Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Tabu, Raakhee, Pooja Bhatt and Sharbani Mukherjee.
