As the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections begins today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted and urged citizens to participate in voting, especially the youth and first-time voters.
In a multi-lingual message shared across X, including English, Hindi, Tamil, Marathi, Bengali, and Assamese, the Prime Minister underscored the significance of each vote and every individual’s voice in shaping the electoral outcome.
“The 2024 Lok Sabha elections commence today! As 102 seats across 21 states and UTs go to the polls, I urge all those voting in these seats to exercise their franchise in record numbers. I particularly call upon the young and first-time voters to vote in large numbers. After all, every vote counts and every voice matters!” he tweeted.” tweeted Prime Minister Modi.
The voting process for the initial phase of the Lok Sabha polls commenced at 7 am, encompassing 102 seats distributed across various states and Union Territories. A staggering 16.63 crore eligible voters, including 35.67 lakh first-time voters, 3.51 crore individuals aged between 20 to 29 years, and 11,371 members of the third gender, have the opportunity to exercise their democratic right during this phase.
