Takhat Sri Patna Sahib, also known as Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji, Patna Sahib, stands as one of the five takhats of the Sikhs, situated in the state capital. Its construction was commissioned by Maharaja Ranjit Singh in the 18th century to commemorate the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru. Guru Gobind Singh was born in Patna in 1666 and spent his formative years here before relocating to Anandpur Sahib. PM Modi’s visit to Gurudwara Patna Sahib echoes the nation’s reverence for its rich religious heritage and traditions.
