Punjab Kings gave another warning to Sanju Samson in a match where not many runs were scored. They beat Rajasthan Royals, who are not in contention for the playoffs. Sam Curran played well with both bat and ball for Punjab Kings. This match wasn’t expected to be very exciting because both teams haven’t been doing great recently. One team is already out of the playoffs, and the other team, although in the top four, hasn’t been playing well lately and some of their key players have left.
The match was close, and even though there wasn’t much at stake in terms of qualifying for the playoffs, it was still competitive. Punjab Kings won by five wickets with seven balls remaining, extending Rajasthan Royals’ losing streak to four games. Rajasthan Royals batted first but didn’t score many runs. Their top-order batsmen struggled, and they could only manage to reach 144/9.
In response, Punjab Kings also had a shaky start but their captain, Sam Curran, led the team to victory with an unbeaten 61 runs. He played smartly, hitting boundaries when needed and guiding his team to the target. His innings was a mix of power-hitting and skillful placement of the ball. Punjab Kings chased down the target comfortably in the end.
