Mohammed Shami Ruled Out: Mohammed Shami has not played any match since ODI World Cup 2023. He is staying away from cricket due to ankle injury. Now the report revealed that Shami has been ruled out of IPL 2024 which is going to start after a few days. Shami’s exit from the tournament can prove to be a big loss for Gujarat Titans.
Shami is the main fast bowler of Gujarat. He was the highest wicket taker bowler in the last season i.e. IPL 2023. He took 28 wickets in 17 matches at an excellent average of 18.61. During this period he had taken 2 ‘four wicket hauls’.
Quoting news agency ‘PTI’, BCCI source said that Shami is out of IPL due to left ankle injury. Shami’s injury will require surgery, which will take place in the UK.
Shami was bought by Gujarat team in the mega auction of 2022 for a price of Rs 6.25 crore, after which he has been a successful fast bowler for the team. Earlier Shami was a part of Punjab Kings. Shami has played a total of 110 IPL matches so far, bowling in 110 innings, he has taken 127 wickets at an average of 26.86. During this period his economy has been 8.44.
Shami was on Fire in the World Cup 2023
Through the 2023 tournament, Shami became the highest wicket-taker for India in the World Cup. The Indian pacer played only 7 matches in the 2023 ODI World Cup, in which he took 24 wickets at an excellent average of 10.71. He was sitting out in the first four matches of the tournament.
