Actor-turned-politician Govinda recently took to Instagram to share a picture of his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In the photo, Govinda can be seen exchanging warm greetings with PM Modi during the campaign for the Lok Sabha elections in Mumbai.
Expressing his honor at meeting PM Modi, Govinda captioned the post, “It was an honour to meet Shri Narendra Modi ji, Honourable Prime Minister of India during the campaign in Mumbai. @narendramodi.”
This meeting with PM Modi follows Govinda’s earlier encounter with Home Minister Amit Shah in April. At that time, Govinda expressed his respect for Amit Shah, calling it an honor to meet him personally.
Govinda’s return to politics came in March 2024, after a hiatus of 14 years. He joined the Shiv Sena party in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in Mumbai. Shinde welcomed Govinda, highlighting the value of his previous political experience to the party.
Addressing the gathering, Govinda, known for his family-oriented films since the 1980s, expressed his emotions, stating that he never imagined returning to politics after his initial stint from 2004 to 2009. He described his comeback as ending a 14-year-long ‘vanvas’ (exile) from the political arena.
