Heavy rains are causing problems in many parts of Kerala. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) put two districts on high alert, saying there would be very heavy rain there. These districts are Pathanamthitta and Idukki. The IMD also says that Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Malappuram, Kozhikode, and Wayanad might get heavy rain too. And there’s a lower alert for Kannur and Kasaragod.
The rain has already caused trouble. Four people died because of it. The IMD says these rains might get even worse. They’re warning of very heavy rain in some places. A red alert means really heavy rain, while orange and yellow alerts mean heavy rain too, just not as much.
The Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) has told fishermen not to go out to sea. They say there could be big waves and flooding along the coast.
Because of these heavy rains, the Health Department has set up a special control room. It’s there to help coordinate efforts to stop diseases from spreading. They want to make sure everyone stays safe.
