Prime Minister Narendra Modi will spend the night at the renowned Advaita Ashram in the Lohgat area of Champawat district, Uttarakhand. This ashram holds historical significance as Swami Vivekananda resided here in 1901. Notably, in the 122-year history of the ashram, no other leader has been permitted to stay. During his two-day visit to Chhattisgarh on October 11 and 12, PM Modi will stay at the main Advaita Ashram, also known as Mayawati Ashram, on the evening of October 12. Located approximately 25 kilometers from the Champawat district headquarters, the ashram sits at an elevation of 6,400 feet and is surrounded by lush green forests. Swami Vivekananda stayed here for a period of two weeks, from January 3rd to January 18th, 1901.
The upcoming visit of Prime Minister Modi to Mayawati Ashram holds great significance as it marks a historic moment. Swami Suddhidananda, the spokesperson for the ashram, expressed his excitement and mentioned that Prime Minister Modi will be the first VVIP to stay at the main building since Swami Vivekananda’s visit in 1901. This visit is a testament to the growing recognition and respect for the ashram’s contributions. The ashram management eagerly awaits the Prime Minister’s arrival and is prepared to extend a warm welcome to him.
